December 6th through 8th at 7 PM and 2 PM — Sweet Dreams: A North Pole Nutcracker

A variety show performed by all ages, Sweet Dreams: A North Pole Nutcracker will have a fresh mix of talent and acts with something for everyone. From dancing and music to comedy, this annual tradition is a unique twist on Christmas shows. Join in the magic!

December 7th at 12 PM — Christmas Brunch

Experience the majesty of Victorian Christmas decor in the Keeper’s Home at Heceta Head Lightstation while enjoying a 7 Course Brunch. Open to the public on December 7th, but reservations are required. Brunch is served family style at a communal table at noon sharp and lasts 2 hours. Appropriate for children 10 and older. $74/person, includes service charge for staff. Please call 866-547-3696 to secure your spot!

December 7th from 12 PM to 7 PM — Winter on the Waterfront 

Celebrate the season with Florence Holiday Festival’s “Winter on the Waterfront” at the gazebo (corner of Bay & Laurel), offering a day of festive fun and support for local organizations. Enjoy live music, warm beverages, a lighted vehicle parade, Santa’s arrival, great holiday season sales, hayrides, caroling, and the mayor’s tree lighting celebration. Don’t miss the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. and a treasure hunt for Sami & Ollie. Maps for the hunt are available at local businesses and the visitor center from Nov. 24 – Dec. 23.

December 7th and 8th, from 10 AM to 5 PM — Holiday Arts Festival 

Get ready to dive into a world of art, craftsmanship, and holiday cheer! The Florence Regional Arts Alliance (FRAA) proudly presents the 13th Annual Holiday Arts Festival—your ultimate destination for unique, handcrafted gifts and one-of-a-kind treasures.

December 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd from 4 PM to 7 PM — Victorian Christmas Open House 

Celebrate the 28th Anniversary of Victorian Christmas Open Houses! Join us to make lasting memories with loved ones. Doors will be open to the public from 4-7 pm December 14th & 15th and 21st & 22nd, 2024. Enjoy the majesty of the beautifully decorated Keeper’s House while listening to live music from generous local performers, enjoying refreshments, and visiting with Santa! The winter raffle will be available and the home will be decorated inside and out.

Yachats

December 6th through 8th from 12 PM to 2 PM — Yachats Winter Festival

Filled with festive activities for the whole family, the annual event starts Friday, December 6, from noon to 8:00 p.m., with the deeply diverse offerings of a vendor fair featuring unique holiday shopping, wreath-making, and gingerbread house-building stations where everyone can get creative. The vendor fair continues Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., welcoming shoppers and holiday enthusiasts back for more seasonal fun.

December 13th through 15th — King Tides

King tides are the highest tides of the year, caused by the alignment of the sun and moon’s gravitational forces. They are a dramatic natural event that can create breathtaking views and dramatic waves. Some good places to watch king tides on the Oregon Coast include: Otter Crest State Scenic Viewpoint, Yachats State Park, Cape Ferrelo viewpoint in Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, and Harris Beach State Park. 

January 1st Yachats Peace Hike

New Year’s Day 2025, the Yachats Trails Committee & View the Future will host the 15th Annual Peace Hike in Yachats, Oregon. The Peace Hike traditionally honors the memory of a blind Native American (Coos) woman named Amanda who was forcibly taken away from her daughter and marched 80 miles with other captives all barefoot through the rocky terrain to the Alsea Sub-agency prison camp in what is now Yachats in 1864.

This is their biggest Craft Bazaar yet! They have over 35 vendors with lots of unique handmade items!  You’ll find the perfect gift for that special person on your Christmas list! This is a diverse position that entails housekeeping, cooking and serving the 7 Course Breakfast, and hosting the wine and cheese social. A mature and responsible candidate must be available weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Typical work hours vary within 730am and 6pm.
