March 17, 18, 19, 2, 25, 25, 2023 – LRP Presents “Rumors” by Neil Simon
Last Resort Players presents Neil Simon’s ribald farce, Rumors. The modern comedy about an
anniversary party gone terribly wrong will be performed in the arena theatre. Rumors begins with arrival
of the first of four couples at a bay area town house only to discover that their host has shot himself- in
the ear lobe- and the hostess has gone missing. Frantic to coverup this unexplained disaster as the other
guests arrive, the deceits pile up, becoming more elaborate, incredible and hilarious, concluding with a
final fraud so absurd that it must be true. Performances: March 17th & 24th at 7:00pm, March 18th, 19th,
25th & 26th at 2:00pm. Located at the Florence Events Center: 715 Quince Street.
March 17, 2023 – John Reischman & The Jaybirds – 7:30 pm
Undisputed mandolin master John Reischman is a foundational player of modern bluegrass and traditional
roots. With the incomparable band The Jaybirds, Reischman will draw from his latest album, New Time
& Old Acoustic. Don’t miss John playing his legendary 1924 Lloyd Gibson F-5 as he shares highlights of
his long and storied career. Presented by Florence Arts, Culture & Entertainment, the independent
501(c)3 volunteer group which supports the Florence Events Center, 715 Quince Street.The performance
starts at 7:30 pm and will go on until 9:30 pm. The doors to the theater will be opening at 6:30 pm.
March 18, 2023 – The boys & Girls club of Western Lane County presents “Fraudville” – 5:30 pm
Come join us for our annual lip-syncing fundraiser! It’s going to be a Country Hoedown with appetizers
& drinks, music with DJ Al, games, a photo booth, live & silent auctions and a MECHANICAL
BULL!!! We are looking for groups that would like to compete in our lip-syncing contest for bragging
rights and a trophy! Do you have what it takes to win or are you more interested in cheering for others?
Dust off your boots and get ready for an evening you won’t soon forget! Don’t miss out on this fun filled
event, the deadline for signing up to participate in the lip-syncing contest is Tuesday February 21st.
