Florence Regional Art Alliance presents its First Annual Coastal Plein Air Art and Wine Festival October 1st  and 2nd at the Florence Events Center.  Over 60 artists from Washington and Oregon are “plain air” painting on the Coast between Newport and Coos Bay for the two weeks prior to the festival. If you see them, stop and talk with them about their artwork.  Artists will then compete for awards and prizes as judged by Barbara Jaenicke, an avid artist currently in Bend, OR. The Art and Wine Festival is October 1st, 11 am to 8 pm, and 2nd, 11 am to 4 pm, and will display and have for sale their artwork.  In addition, we have five awesome wineries from the Willamette and Umpqua Valley and 2 local food trucks, Hangry Haberneros and Peterson’s Pretzels. Come walk among the wonderful art, sip your wine and enjoy some food! The event is free to enter, wine tasting is $5 for a glass and 4 tasting tickets for $5.  More information is available on FRAA’s website,  fraaoregon.org.

Circles in the Sand at Heceta Beach – October 8, 2022
Labyrinth artist Denny Dyke is bringing his popular natural and meditative art installation to Heceta Beach!
Circles in the Sand was first created for Denny’s as a walking meditation and way to connect with the ocean
and ever-changing sand. The first Dreamfields was created in 2014 and has been a favored attraction among
coastal visitors whenever one is made. Dreamfields have grown to be giant patterns, a garden of sand with
several spirals and meandering paths that always return home. The draw-out starts at 3 p.m. with Denny
teaching everyone how to create this amazing art form on the canvas of Heceta Beach. At 4:30 p.m.,
volunteers are welcome to help groom the labyrinth before the path walk begins at 5 p.m. Watch the sunset
over the Pacific Ocean while contemplating the wonder of the sea! This event is hosted by Driftwood Shores,
Sea Lion Caves, Mos Seafood, Florence Area. Driftwood Shores 88416 1st Ave, Florence

At the Siuslaw Library – Thanks to the Lane Arts Council, Western Lane Community Foundation, and all of the partner orgs listed on the attached poster, we have some nifty art coming to our area as part of Fiesta Cultural. This is a celebration of Latino/a/x/e arts and culture that has previously only been in the Eugene/Springfield area.
